AD/BELL 206/114 Fuel System Flow Switches 9/88
Applicability: All model 206L S/N 45001 through 45153 and 46601 through 46617. All model 206L-1 S/N 45154 through 45790.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Bell Alert Service Bulletin 206L-88- 52. Compliance: Unless already accomplished, at the next inspection for issue of a Maintenance
Release or by 30 November 1988, whichever occurs first.
Background: A number of accidents and incidents have been caused by the old style fuel flow switches being blocked by fuel system contaminants. If blockage of the flow switch occurs the L/FUEL PUMP and R/FUEL PUMP caution lights will fail to illuminate. Fuel contaminants can also block the manifold and dual ejector pump nozzle causing the fuel transfer system to become inoperative. Failure by the pilot to detect these blockages can result in an engine flameout.
