Tail Rotor Yoke and Pitch Links 5/87

 

Applicability: All model Bell 206A, B, L and Agusta Bell AB206A, B, L helicopters equipped with tail rotor yoke P/N 206-011-819-101 and crosshead P/N 206-010-741-001/-003.

 

Requirement: 1. Inspect in accordance with Bell Helicopter Alert Service Bulletin 206-86-31.

 

Note: FAA AD 86-24-01 and Italian AD 87-2/AB206-118 also refer.

 

2. Install crosshead P/N 206-011-857-001.

 

Compliance: 1. Unless already accomplished, within 10 hours time in service after 7 May 1987.

 

2. Unless already accomplished, if contact is evident replace crosshead before further flight. If no contact is evident install crosshead within 200 hours time in service or 90 days after 7 May 1987 which ever occurs first.

 

Background:  The manufacturer has received reports of tail rotor pitch links contacting the tail rotor yoke, when applying full left pedal and full flap of the tail rotor hub and blade assembly. This Directive has been amended to include Agusta Bell helicopters.
