Beechcraft 90 and 65-90 (King Air) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 90/96 Landing Gear Emergency Hand

Pump - Faulty Component Replacement

Applicability: All Raytheon (Beechcraft) C90A model airplanes all serial numbers.

Requirement: Replace any landing gear emergency hand pump, part number 101-388007-3, with a serial number in the range 2702 through 2833. Defective components are to be returned to the manufacturer for warranty action. Compliance can be shown if the aircraft maintenance records can identify positively that the serial number of the emergency hand pump fitted falls outside of the range of affected components.

Compliance: Within 25 hours’ time in service from the effective date of this Directive. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 27 September 1999.

Background: Information from the manufacturer indicates that certain emergency hand pumps, fitted during manufacture or as replacement parts, within a specific range of serial numbers have been machined incorrectly and will not operate correctly in an emergency situation. This Directive introduces measures to identify and replace the defective components. All aircraft serial numbers are deemed applicable as any one of them may have had one of the defective components fitted during its operational life.
