Applicability: All models.
Rear Fuselage, Stabilisers and Fin Sealing and Draining
8/89
Requirement: 1. Action in accordance with Beechcraft S.B. 2254, and
2. Drill 4 off, 5mm holes, AFT of the rear pressure bulkhead in the lower fuselage skins as per drawing below.
Compliance: 1. Prior to the next inspection for Maintenance Release issue after 10 August 1989 or within 100 hours time in service after 10 August 1989 whichever is the later.
2. Forthwith.
Background: The Authority has been aware of the freezing problems associated with this aircraft for some time. The initial issue of this Directive introduced drain holes as an Australian modification. The manufacturer has introduced improved sealing with S.B. 2254 to further address the problem.
