Beechcraft 1900 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/BEECH 1900/19 Under Torqued Propeller Mounting Bolts 12/97

Applicability: Model 1900D aircraft (serial numbers UE176 through UE280, UE282 and UE284, that have not had the propeller removed and re-installed since factory installation or have not had the propeller attachment bolts re-torqued.

 

Requirement: For applicable aircraft, the propeller mounting bolts are to be checked for correct torque figures in accordance with Raytheon urgent action letter number 52-0092, dated 22 July 1997. Mounting bolts with a torque setting of less than 60ft-lbs are to be replaced before further flight. Mounting bolts with torque settings of 60ft-lbs or greater are to be re-torqued in accordance with manufacturer’s procedures.

Compliance: Compliance with this directive is required within the next 50 hours time in service (TIS) following the effective date of issue of this directive.

 

The effective date of issue of this directive is 24 September 1997.

 

Background: The FAA has received reports that certain Raytheon model 1900D airplanes were inadvertently installed with under-torqued propeller mounting bolts.
