COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY

SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

Beechcraft 1900 Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 1900/11 Fuselage Canted Bulkhead 7/95

Applicability: Beech model 1900, serial numbers UA-1 to UA-3; 1900C, serial numbers UB-1 to UB-74 and UC-1 to UC-174; 1900D, serial numbers UE-1 to UE-113.

Requirement: Visually inspect the entire surface of the canted bulkhead at fuselage station 588.10, paying attention to the outer flange radius at stringer cut outs, lightening holes and the rudder pulley bracket attach angles. Inspect in accordance with Beechcraft Service Bulletin 2564, Revision 1.

Compliance: Initially inspect before 5000 hours time in service or before 200 hours time in service after 25 May 1995, whichever occurs later.

Re-inspect at intervals not to exceed 600 hours time in service.

Installation of Kit 129-4005-1 S cancels the inspection requirements of this Directive.

Background: The manufacturer has received reports of cracks in the canted bulkhead. If the cracks exceed allowable limits the residual strength of the bulkhead may be reduced below the certification requirements. Rudder cable tension may also be affected and rudder power reduced.
