SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 



British Aerospace BAe 146 Series Aeroplanes

 

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

 

AD/BAe 146/79 Nose Landing Gear Oleo 9/2000

Applicability: All BAe 146 series aircraft and all AVRO 146-RJ aircraft.

 

Nose landing gears with part numbers 200876001 /002/003, and /004.

 

Nose landing gears with part numbers 201138002, up to and including serial number M-DG-0168.

 

Requirement: Inspect in accordance with BAe Systems Mandatory Service Bulletin (SB) 32-158.

 

Note: Messier-Dowty SB 146-32-149 refers.

 

Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document for the initial and repeat inspection requirements, with an effective date of 7 September 2000; until ‘Closing Action’ specified in paragraph 2.A.(4) of the Requirement document is accomplished.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 7 September 2000.

 

Background: The manufacturer received a report of a crack found at the top of the nose landing gear oleo. This Directive requires NDT inspection of the upper end of the nose landing gear oleo.
