AD/BAe 146/102 Air-conditioning Duct - Inspection 1/2003

Applicability: All BAe 146 -100, 200 and 300 Series aircraft.

Requirement: Action per the requirements of BAE Systems Inspection Service Bulletin (ISB.) 21- 156.

Note: CAA(UK) has classified the requirements of BAE Systems ISB. 21-156 as Mandatory.

Compliance: Carry out initial inspection and repetitive inspections as detailed in the BAE Systems ISB. 21-156 with a revised effective date of 23 January 2003.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 23 January 2003.

Background: It is found that the sound attenuating material used in the air-conditioning ducts can absorb oil and can become a source of persistent air contamination. This Directive mandates scheduled repetitive inspections and additional inspections when cabin air contamination is persistent.
