SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
British Aerospace BAe 146 Series Aeroplanes
AD/BAe 146/100 Fire Extinguisher Wiring 12/2002
Applicability: BAe 146 and Avro 146 RJ series aeroplanes with modifications HCM01582A (Production Installation of Pacific Scientific Fire Extinguishers) or HCM01582B (SB.26-042-01582B Retro Installation of Pacific Scientific Fire Extinguishers) and HCM01688A (Installation of Earth Stud Adaptor) previously embodied.
Aircraft with modification HCM01582B, are exempt from the requirements of this Directive if BAe Systems (Operations) Ltd Inspection Service Bulletin (ISB) 26-060 has been incorporated on each engine subsequent to embodiment of modification HCM01582B.
Requirement: Inspect and test the left hand fire bottle wiring on all four engines in accordance with BAe Systems (Operations) Ltd ISB.26-065.
Note: This Inspection Service Bulletin has been classified as Mandatory by the CAA(UK).
Compliance: Before 31 March 2003.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 November 2002.
Background: BAe has advised that it is possible to incorrectly connect wiring circuits on Pacific Scientific engine fire extinguishers. This Directive requires an inspection and test to verify that the engine fire extinguishers are connected correctly.
