Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B767/95 Leading Edge Slat System 4/97
Applicability: All Model 767 series aircraft.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 96-25-18 Amdt 39- 9861.
Note: Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-27A0137 refers.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished, before the accumulation of 10,500 total hours time in service, or within 500 hours time in service after 27 March 1997, whichever occurs later; thereafter at the intervals specified in the requirement document.
This airworthiness directive becomes effective on 27 March 1997.
Background: The FAA received reports of skewed panels of an outboard leading edge slat due to the failure of a corroded rotary actuator or the control rod. An undetected skewed slat panel could lead to control difficulty and result in slat structure damage.
