SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: Model 767-200, -300, and -300F series aircraft, line numbers 1 through 883. Requirement:              Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2004-09-11 Amdt

39-13600.

 

Note: Boeing Service Bulletins 767-32A0196 original issue, Revision 1, and Revision 2 refer.

 

Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 8 July 2004.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 July 2004.

 

Background: This Directive requires measurements of the main landing gear outer cylinder upper and lower joint gaps, and an ultrasonic inspection of the outer cylinder for cracks between the downlock fitting attach lugs. This action is required to detect and correct cracks in the outer cylinder of the main landing gear, which could result in landing gear collapse and consequent reduced controllability of the aircraft during takeoff and landing.
