AD/B767/194 Aft Pressure Bulkhead Radial Stiffener 7/2004

Applicability: Model 767-300 series aircraft, line numbers 754, 761, 767, 775, and 776. Requirement:              Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2004-08-07 Amdt

39-13576.

Note: Boeing Service Bulletins 767-53A0102 original issue, and Revision 1 refer.

Compliance: Within 18 months after 8 July 2004.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 July 2004.

Background: The FAA requires certain actions in order to prevent interference of the A1 galley with the radial stiffener on the aft pressure bulkhead, which could result in fatigue crack propagation. Fatigue crack propagation could lead to possible rapid decompression of the aircraft or to damage and/or interference with the aircraft control systems that pass through the bulkhead, and consequent loss of control of the aircraft.
