Applicability: Model 767-200 and -300 series aircraft, line numbers 1 through 423.

Requirement: Inspect in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2004-05-16 Amdt 39-13511.

Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 13 May 2004.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 13 May 2004.

Background: Reports were received of cracks in the aft pressure bulkhead web to pressure chord joint on Models 737 and 747 aircraft. Due to the structural similarity, inspection has been extended to the Model 767 aircraft. Cracks in the aft pressure bulkhead web can result in rapid decompression and/or damage to, or interference with, control systems that penetrate the dome.
