Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B767/114 Side-of-Body Kick-Load Fitting Bolts 13/99
Applicability: Model 767 series aircraft, line positions 1 through 177.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 99-19-29 Amdt 39- 11316.
Note: Boeing Service Bulletin 767-57A0064 Revision 1 refers.
Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document for the initial and repetitive inspections, and final terminating action; with a revised effective date of 30 December 1999.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 30 December 1999.
Background: The FAA received a report of two broken H-11 tension bolts found on the side-of- body kick-load fitting on one aircraft. The actions specified by this Directive are intended to prevent cracking of the bolts due to stress corrosion, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the wing-to-body joint structure.
