Applicability: All 747 with line numbers 001-678, 680-684, 686-720 except 747-400 model. Requirement: Action in accordance with Boeing Alert SB 747-28A2117 Revision 2, First Phase and
Second Phase.
Note: FAA AD 89-12-10 Amendment 39-6230 and FAR 25.963(e) refer.
Compliance: First Phase: Prior to 31 December 1990.
Second Phase: Prior to 31 October 1992.
Background: Country of origin AD. Enables compliance with FAR 25.963(e) which provides for fuel tank access panels to have a higher resistance to impact to reduce possibility of penetration from engine debris or objects thrown by the aircraft tyres.
