SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Boeing 747 Series Aeroplanes

AD/B747/282 Engine Fire Extinguisher - Modification 13/2002

Applicability: Boeing Model 747 Series aeroplanes as specified in FAA AD 2002-19-12. Requirement:              Action per the requirements of FAA AD 2002-19-12.

Note 1: FAA AD 2002-19-12, Amdt 39-12892 refers.

Note 2: This AD supersedes AD/B747/227.

Compliance: As detailed in the requirement document with a revised effective date of 26 December 2002.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 26 December 2002.

Background: Fire extinguisher discharge pipes are found to crack on Model B747 series aeroplanes fitted with GE CF6-80C2 and PW4000 Series engines. This AD mandates a terminating action for the repetitive inspections introduced per AD/B747/227 which is based on FAA AD 2000-07-10.
