Amdt 1
Combiner Gearbox R.H. and L.H. 5/88
Applicability: All model AS355 aircraft fitted with input flanges P/No 355A32-2095-20 and 21 on which either modification AMS 350A07-9527 or AMS 350A07-9534 has not been embodied.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Aerospatiale SB 05-09 Revision 2.
Compliance: (a) For those aircraft whose main gearbox has completed 250 hours time in service or more; within the next 50 hours time in service after 19 May 1988 or by
30 September 1988 whichever occurs first.
(b) For those aircraft whose main gearbox has completed less than 250 hours time in service; prior to exceeding 300 hours gearbox time in service.
(c) Thereafter, at intervals not exceeding 300 hours time in service.
Background: The manufacturer has reported several cases of deep wear found on the combiner gearbox input flanges due to contact between the engine coupling shaft and the input flanges. This directive has been amended to reflect Revision 1 of the Requirement Document.
