SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

 

AMD Falcon 50 and 900 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/AMD 50/24 Composite Horizontal Stabiliser 4/2002

 

Applicability:  All Mystere Falcon 900 and Falcon 900EX aircraft, which have Dassault Aviation modification M2460 incorporated, except aircraft which have modification M3463 incorporated.

 

All Falcon 2000 aircraft which have modification M1283 incorporated, except aircraft which have modification M2092 incorporated.

 

Requirement:  Action in accordance with Dassault Aviation Service Bulletins F900-291, F900EX- 155, or F2000-234, as applicable.

 

Note: DGAC AD 2002-089(B) refers.

 

Compliance: Within 7 months after 18 April 2002.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 18 April 2002.

 

Background: Lightning tests on a composite horizontal stabiliser have indicated that excess paint thickness is detrimental to lightning spreading. This excess paint thickness may lead to serious damage in the case of a direct lightning strike on sensitive areas.
