AMD Falcon 50 and 900 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/AMD 50/14

Amdt 1


Horizontal Stabiliser Hinge 9/99

 

Applicability: Mystere Falcon 50 aircraft with serial numbers 242 through 262, Mystere Falcon 900 aircraft with serial numbers 139 through 169, and Falcon 900 EX aircraft with serial numbers 1 through 21.

 

Requirement: 1. Incorporate the following temporary changes and revisions, as applicable: For the MF 50:

Aircraft Flight Manual, TC 46 (TC 12 for S/N 251, 253 on).

 

Maintenance Manual Chapter 5-40, Revision 10.

 

For the MF 900:

 

Aircraft Flight Manual, TC 69.

 

Maintenance Manual Chapter 5-40, Revision 9.

 

For the F 900 EX:

 

Aircraft Flight Manual, TC 14.

 

Maintenance Manual Chapter 5-40, Revision 2.

 

2.    Perform the check specified in Chapter 5 of the Maintenance Manual at the revision status referenced in Requirement 1 of this Directive, as applicable.

 

3.    Action in accordance with Dassault Aviation Service Bulletin F 50-274, F 900- 203, or F 900 EX-37, as applicable.

 

Note: DGAC AD 1997-370-020 (B) R2 refers.

 

Compliance: 1. Unless already accomplished, before 23 May 1998.

 

2.    Before 27 February 2004 or supplementary 3750 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.

 

3.    Before 6 years and 2 Months or 3750 flight cycles since new, whichever occurs first.

 

The compliance remains unchanged for Requirement 1 of this Directive. This Amendment becomes effective on 9 September 1999.

Background: A check performed on a test aircraft revealed deformation of the horizontal stabiliser attachment and hinge outer rings which may create excessive play in the hinge.

SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 

Amendment 1 is issued in response to a new DGAC AD which deletes the mandatory inspection to be performed after a stall as required in Maintenance Manual Chapter 5.50

 

The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 23 April 1998.
