AMD Fan Jet Falcon (Falcon 20/Mystere-Falcon 200) Series Aeroplanes
AD/AMD 20/17 Fire Extinguisher Bottle Squib 2/80
Applicability: All models.
Requirement: Action in accordance with AMD SB No. 657.
Note: Bureau Veritas AD 79-218-(B) refers.
Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 29 February 1980.
Background: Following the addition of a spacer washer to the fire extinguisher squib as required by AD/AMD-20/13, AMD developed a modified squib which does NOT require a spacer washer. An incident has now been reported whereby a modified squib was fitted with a spacer, resulting in the squib failing to activate the extinguisher bottle. Reference should be made to AMD SB No. 657 whenever subsequent squib replacement is carried out.
