Internal Energy Absorbing Ring 12/89

 

Applicability: Allison model 250-C30, C30L, C30M, C30P, C30S engines.

 

Requirement: Install an internal energy absorbing ring in accordance with Allison CEB-A-72-3128 R1, Para 2 Accomplishment Instructions.

 

Note: This Directive should be carried out in conjunction with CAO 106 AD/AL 250/66 Amdt 2. FAA AD 86-19-12 refers.

 

Compliance: As detailed in Requirement document.

 

Background:  This Directive has been amended to rationalize previous requirements, and to increase the engine models and aircraft applicable. The Requirements now require the subject internal energy absorbing ring to be installed in all C30 series engines. Previous references to airframe mounted, external containment shields and the Allison Assured Engine configuration have been deleted.
