SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


Ayres Thrush (Snow) Commander Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/AC-SNOW/20 Aileron Hinge Bracket Bolts 9/93 DM

Applicability: All S2R-T65, -T34, -T15, -T11 and -R1820 aircraft referenced by Ayres Corporation Service Bulletin SB-AG-22.

 

Requirement: 1. Replace the lower attachment bolts from all six aileron brackets with larger diameter bolts, in accordance with Ayres Corporation Service Bulletin SB-AG-22, within 5 flight hours after 21 June 1993; or

 

2. (a) Replace the existing lower attachment bolts from all six aileron brackets with new bolts of the same size within 5 flight hours after 21 June 1993; and

 

(b) Replace these new bolts with larger diameter bolts, in accordance with Ayres Corporation Service Bulletin SB-AG-22, within 120 flight hours from installation of the new bolts.

 

Compliance: Effective from 21 June 1993.

 

Background: The Authority has received a report of an aircraft on which the controls became jammed in flight due to failure of the lower attachment bolts on the left hand aileron inboard and centre hinges.
