SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.


 

Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/A320/163 Wing Trailing Edge Cable Routes 13/2004

 

Applicability: Airbus A320 series aeroplanes except those with either Airbus Modification 22626 embodied during production or Airbus Service Bulletin (SB) A320-24-1062 Revision 5 incorporated whilst in service.

 

Requirement: Install insulation (cable protection) to the “S” cable routes of the trailing edge, aft of the rear spar and wing tip in accordance with SB A320-24-1062 Revision 5 or later approved revision.

 

Note: DGAC AD F-2004-173 (EASA Approval 2004-10570) refers.

 

Compliance: Before 31 December 2009.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 23 December 2004.

 

Background: This Directive requires the modification of the trailing edge cable routes aft of the rear spar and wing tip providing a better insulation capability. The Directive is a consequence of a design review initiated by the Joint Aviation Authorities following the TWA800 in-flight explosion.
