SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.


 

Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/A320/155 Passenger Door Emergency Escape Slides 8/2004

 

Applicability: Model A318, A319, A320, and A321 aircraft, equipped with a forward passenger door emergency escape slide part number D31516-111, -113, -115, -117, -311, or

-313, or an aft passenger door emergency escape slide part number D31517-111, - 113, -115, -117, -311, or -313; without Airbus Modification 33429 that has been incorporated in production or Airbus Service Bulletin A320-25-1338 that has been incorporated in service.

 

Requirement: Modify all door emergency escape slides in accordance with Airbus Service Bulletin A320-25-1338.

 

Note: DGAC AD F-2004-072 refers.

 

Compliance: Before 30 June 2007.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 5 August 2004.

 

Background: Several incomplete inflations of emergency escape slides have occurred during deployment tests by the manufacturer. Investigation revealed the inflation hose had ruptured at the end fitting due to interference with the slide fabric during inflation. Incomplete inflation of escape slide(s) could delay passenger egress during an emergency evacuation.
