This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 9 September 1999.
Background: This Airworthiness Directive supersedes AD/A320/92 Amdt 1 and results from the Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile issuing a new French airworthiness directive.
The Directive requires the Engine/Master 1 relay to be relocated to improve physical separation of the electrical components and wiring. This will lower the risk of simultaneous cut-off of the fuel low pressure supply to both engines being caused by water ingress in relay box 102VU. The Directive also requires an inspection to ensure the correct electrical contacts were installed during the relocation mandated by AD/A320/92 Amdt 1.
