EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
1. Authority for making the instrument. Australian National University (Academic Board) Statute 2017, section 5.
2. Purpose and operation of the instrument. The Rule specifies the functions, powers and membership of the Academic Board, meeting arrangements, election procedures, and authority for the Board to establish committees and working groups.
3. Documents incorporated in the instrument by reference. None.
4. Consultation process. The Council of the University considered and approved the Rule on 1 December 2017 on the recommendation of the Academic Board.
