ZENG & YEOW

In the matter of *Zeng & Yeow*, heard before Judge Morley, the dispute concerned applications for spousal maintenance and interim property orders. The applicant, the wife, sought financial support from the respondent, the husband, and also sought interim orders relating to the property pool, with a final hearing of the substantive property matter imminent.

The court was required to determine whether the wife had a demonstrated need for spousal maintenance, particularly in light of the impending final property settlement. Additionally, the court considered the appropriate orders for interim property matters given the proximity of the final hearing and the disputed nature of the asset pool.

Judge Morley ordered that the husband pay the wife $500 per week as spousal maintenance, commencing on 27 November 2019 and continuing weekly thereafter. All other interim applications made by the parties were dismissed.
