Zema and Kristo

In the matter of *Zema and Kristo*, heard before Berman J, the dispute concerned an application to vary an existing order for interim spousal maintenance. The husband sought to alter the quantum of maintenance previously ordered to be paid to the wife.

The central legal issue before the court was whether the existing interim spousal maintenance order, made on 2 September 2014, should be varied. Specifically, the court was required to determine the appropriate amount of weekly interim spousal maintenance the husband should be ordered to pay to the wife.

Berman J varied the previous order, finding that the husband should pay the wife the sum of $202 per week by way of interim spousal maintenance. This variation was to take effect from 4 April 2016.
