Zanoni v MFT Holdings Pty Ltd

In the Federal Circuit Court of Australia at Brisbane, Judge Baumann considered an application by Rebecca Zanoni against MFT Holdings Pty Ltd. The applicant, formerly employed by the respondent as an administrative secretary from September 2004 until February 2013, sought payment of unpaid wages and a payment in lieu of notice. The court found in favour of the applicant, ordering the respondent to pay the applicant the sum of $10,490.80 (gross). The respondent was entitled to deduct applicable income tax from this amount before payment.
