In the matter of *Wade & Godwin*, heard before Judge Scarlett, the dispute concerned parenting arrangements for a child, X, born in 2010. The application sought orders regarding the child's residence, parental responsibility, and the father's time with the child, as well as permission for the child to travel overseas.

The court was required to determine the most appropriate living arrangements for child X, including who should have sole parental responsibility for long-term decisions. Additionally, the court needed to consider the terms upon which the respondent father would spend time with the child and whether to grant permission for the child to travel internationally for a holiday, with specific conditions regarding her return.

Judge Scarlett ordered that child X is to live with the applicant mother and that the mother shall have sole parental responsibility for making long-term decisions concerning the child's care, welfare, and development. The father is to spend time with the child at times agreed by the parties. The court also permitted child X to travel outside Australia for a holiday between 19 December 2015 and 26 January 2016, with the express condition that the mother must ensure the child's return to Australia no later than 26 January 2016.
