In *Venis & Paitson*, heard before Williams J, the applicant sought an order for her costs arising from the respondent's notice of objection to a subpoena.

The central legal issue before the court was whether the circumstances warranted an order for the applicant's costs in relation to specific court appearances, namely a Subpoena Hearing on 23 October 2019, an Interim Hearing on 17 January 2020, and another Interim Hearing on 11 February 2020.

Williams J ordered that the respondent pay the applicant's agreed costs for these appearances, to be calculated in accordance with the relevant scale. In the event that the parties could not agree on the costs, they were to be taxed.
