Timmins and Leonard

This matter concerned parenting orders for two children, M and J, born in 1998 and 2000 respectively. The proceedings were before Justice Fowler.

The court was required to determine the future parental responsibility and living arrangements for the children, as well as the nature and extent of the father's time with them.

Justice Fowler ordered that all prior parenting orders be discharged. The mother was granted sole parental responsibility for the children, with the requirement that she inform the father of any proposed decisions regarding their long-term care and welfare in relation to religion, education, health, or place of residence. While the father was to be invited to offer an opinion, the ultimate decision rested with the mother. The children were ordered to live with the mother. The court also made detailed provisions for the children to spend time with the father, including specific arrangements for weekends, school holidays, and supervision by the paternal grandmother in Sydney or the maternal or paternal grandmother in Newcastle.
