Thurston and Loomis

This matter came before Forrest J concerning a dispute between Ms Thurston and Mr Loomis regarding financial matters and child support. The proceedings involved applications filed by Ms Thurston and a response filed by Mr Loomis.

The court was required to determine the appropriate orders for property adjustment between the parties and child support departure. Additionally, the court considered an application for funds to be withdrawn from a superannuation fund and paid into a joint trust account, and for school fees to be paid from that account.

Forrest J ordered that a sum of $4,800 be withdrawn from the Loomis-Thurston Superannuation Fund and deposited into a trust account held for Ms Thurston and Mr Loomis. This money was to be used to pay school fees for their child, KK Loomis-Thurston, upon presentation of an invoice from AC School. The court dismissed the balance of the applications contained in the parties' respective filings. Further written submissions were to be filed by Ms Thurston and Mr Loomis, along with L Limited and C Pty Ltd, concerning final property adjustment and child support departure orders.
