The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) considered an application for review by Mr Paramveer Singh and Mrs Kirandeep Kour concerning decisions made by a delegate of the Minister for Immigration to refuse them Student (Temporary) (Class TU) Subclass 500 visas.

The primary legal issue before the Tribunal was whether to confirm the dismissal of the applicants' application for review. This dismissal occurred because the applicants failed to appear at the scheduled hearing to present evidence and arguments. As the applicants did not lodge a request for reinstatement within the stipulated timeframe, the Tribunal was obliged to confirm the dismissal decision, thereby affirming the original decisions to refuse the visas.
