Simard and Jaffri

In *Simard and Jaffri*, heard by Judge Scarlett, the dispute concerned parenting orders for a child born in 2008. The court was required to determine the arrangements for the child's residence, time spent with each parent, and communication between the parents and the child.

The court ordered that all previous parenting orders be suspended. It established equal shared parental responsibility for the child, with the child to live with the Mother. Specific provisions were made for the child to spend time with the Father on alternate Saturdays, Christmas Eve, the Sunday before the Father's birthday, Father's Day, and the child's birthday. Changeovers were to occur at a specific McDonald's restaurant, and each parent was permitted telephone contact with the child during specified evening hours when the child was with the other parent.

Furthermore, the court issued an injunction restraining both parties from abusing, criticising, or denigrating the other in the child's presence or hearing, or permitting any third person to do so. These orders were made until further order of the court.
