SHARP & QUEST

This matter concerned orders relating to the child X, born in 2005, between the parties, SHARP and QUEST. The court was required to determine the parenting arrangements for the child, including issues of parental responsibility, living arrangements, and time spent with each parent.

The court was tasked with establishing orders that would govern the long-term and day-to-day care of the child. This included determining who would have sole parental responsibility for long-term decisions and how the parties would share responsibility for the child's daily care and welfare. Specific arrangements for the child to live with one parent and spend time with the other were to be defined, along with provisions for holidays, birthdays, and communication.

The court made detailed orders concerning the child's living arrangements, with the child to live with the father and spend time with the mother on alternate weekends and during specified school holidays. Provisions were made for the child's schooling, communication between the child and the non-resident parent, and travel arrangements. Injunctions were imposed to prevent denigration of each other in the child's presence, physical discipline, and the consumption of illicit substances or excessive alcohol in the child's presence. The court also ordered that each parent be kept informed of the child's activities and health, and that they share responsibility for passport renewal costs. Applications for costs by the Independent Children's Lawyer against both parents were dismissed.
