Salambo and Olenghi

In the matter of Salambo and Olenghi, Ms Salambo sought permission from the Federal Circuit Court of Australia to travel with the child, B, born in 2007, from Australia to Country X and Country Y. This application was opposed by the child's father, Mr Olenghi.

The primary legal issue before Berman J was whether to grant Ms Salambo's application for international travel with the child, considering Mr Olenghi's objection. This involved assessing the best interests of the child in the context of proposed travel arrangements.

Berman J ordered that Ms Salambo be permitted to travel with the child to Country X and Country Y between May and June 2019. The court further ordered that Ms Salambo provide Mr Olenghi with copies of the child's itinerary and proof of return travel tickets, with service of the itinerary to be effected by post to Mr Olenghi's specified address. Additionally, the court ordered that the child's name be removed from the Family Law Airport Watchlist.
