RMBR and National Disability Insurance Agency

The applicant, RMBR, sought to amend a decision made by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) dated 23 November 2018, pursuant to section 48 of the *Freedom of Information Act 1982* (Cth) (FOI Act). The matter came before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

The central legal issue before the Tribunal was whether it possessed the jurisdiction to amend specific sentences within the NDIA's decision record. This question turned on the interpretation of section 58AA(2)(a) of the FOI Act in conjunction with the relevant legislative provisions and supporting materials.
