Petersen and Sands

The matter of Petersen and Sands came before Justice Ryan, concerning a dispute over parenting orders for four children. The original orders were made by the M Local Court on 1 May 2002.

The court was required to determine the specific arrangements for the father's time and communication with the children, including during school holidays, weekends, and special occasions. The court also had to consider provisions for the children's participation in extracurricular activities and the consequences of contravening the orders.

Justice Ryan discharged the previous orders and made new detailed arrangements for the father's time with the children, specifying periods for Christmas, autumn, winter, and spring holidays, as well as alternate weekends and Father's Day. Liberal telephone communication was also ordered. The court stipulated a changeover location and required the father to ensure the children's attendance at sports and Pathfinders activities. Provisions were made for managing conflicts with extracurricular commitments, allowing for adjustments to parenting time. The court also included a Fact Sheet detailing the obligations, consequences of contravention, and support services, pursuant to sections 65DA(2) and 62B of the *Family Law Act 1975*. All outstanding applications were dismissed.
