The Administrative Appeals Tribunal considered an application for a Subclass 500 (Student) visa. The applicant sought review of a decision concerning their eligibility for the visa.

The primary legal issue before the Tribunal was whether the applicant had provided sufficient evidence of adequate health insurance, a criterion stipulated by cl. 500.215 of Schedule 2 to the Regulations.

The Tribunal was satisfied that the applicant had met the health insurance criterion upon receiving an Overseas Student Health Cover Certificate from CBHS, valid from 4 June 2019 to 3 April 2020. Consequently, the Tribunal remitted the application for reconsideration with a direction that the applicant meets the relevant visa criterion.
