Norris and Matthews

The case of *Norris and Matthews* concerned an application by the mother for child support, alongside other applications filed by both the mother and the father. The court granted the mother leave to rely upon Mr West as her McKenzie Friend. The mother's initial application filed on 7 November 2016 and the father's response filed on 7 December 2016 were both dismissed.

The primary legal issue before the court was the mother's amended application concerning child support, filed on 19 October 2016. The court was required to determine how to proceed with this application, particularly in light of its not having been served on the Registrar for child support matters.

The court adjourned the mother's amended application for child support to allow her the opportunity to serve the Registrar and to reconsider her application. The Independent Children's Lawyer was excused from attending the adjourned hearing. The court noted that the form of the order was subject to its entry into the Court's records.
