In *Montagu & Crimmins*, heard before Rees J, the dispute concerned an application to extend a father's time spent with his child, E. The father sought to vary existing parenting orders to increase his time with E.

The court was required to determine whether to grant an extension of the father's time with E, specifically in relation to school holiday periods. Additionally, the court considered an application by the mother for costs in relation to prior proceedings before the Senior Registrar.

Rees J ordered an extension of the father's weekend time with E. This extension included E spending time with her father until 9:00 am on Wednesday during one weekend in each short school holiday period, and on three alternate weekends during the Christmas holiday period in 2018/19. The mother's application for costs in relation to the proceedings on 25 January 2018 was dismissed.
