In *McDonald & McDonald*, heard by Judge Scarlett, the dispute concerned parenting orders for the children X and Y, born in 2012. The court was required to determine the arrangements for the children's living arrangements, time spent with each parent, and parental responsibility.

The court considered the best interests of the children in making its orders. It was required to determine the appropriate level of shared parental responsibility, where the children would live, and the specific arrangements for the children to spend time with the father.

Judge Scarlett ordered that all earlier parenting orders be discharged. The father and mother were granted equal shared parental responsibility for the children. The children were ordered to live with the mother, and to spend time with the father for two hours each alternate Saturday at a contact centre, and from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on the Sunday of the off week at the father's residence under supervision. The mother was also ordered to deliver and collect the children for these supervised visits. Furthermore, the parties were ordered to attend an updated court report with Dr A on 21 July 2015, with the mother to initially bear the cost of Dr A's fees.
