Liveson and Zhou

In the matter of Liveson and Zhou, Hogan J of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia considered an application for relief. The dispute concerned the production of financial documents and other records relevant to a valuation being undertaken by B Accountants on behalf of the parties.

The court was required to determine the terms of orders to be made concerning the disclosure of financial information by the Respondent. Specifically, the court needed to address the production of bank account details and statements, as well as outstanding documents required for the valuation. The court also had to consider the costs of the appearance and the scheduling of future court events.

By consent, the court ordered that the hearing of the relief sought by the Applicant be adjourned for further hearing to a date not before 4 November 2016. The Respondent was ordered to produce copies of bank account details and statements for accounts she controlled, with certain exceptions, within fourteen days. Furthermore, the Respondent was directed to deliver up all outstanding documents requested by B Accountants within twenty-eight days. The Respondent was also ordered to provide the Applicant with copies of documents associated with specific transactions from an ANZ account within twenty-eight days. The costs of the appearance were reserved to the trial judge, and a previously listed directions hearing was vacated.
