Lenard and Rogers

The case of *Lenard and Rogers* concerned a dispute between the parents of two children, E Rogers and F Rogers, regarding the surname by which the children should be known. The matter came before Watts J.

The primary legal issue before the court was whether to grant an injunction restraining the mother from allowing the children to be known by a surname other than Lenard, and to determine the extent to which the mother could make decisions regarding the surname used by the children.

The court ordered that both parents be restrained from allowing the children to be known by any other surname than Lenard, and that subject to this restraint, the mother be permitted to make all decisions about the surname used by the children.
