In the matter of *Lake & Mansell*, Dawe J of the Family Court of Australia considered an application by the father, filed on 27 March 2012, and the preparation of a Family Consultant's report.

The court was required to determine whether to dismiss the father's application and when the Family Consultant's report should be prepared in relation to the final trial listing.

Dawe J directed that the Family Consultant's report be prepared only once the final trial of the matter had been listed. The Docket Registrar was further directed to make this order at such time as a trial hearing date became available. The father's application filed on 27 March 2012 was dismissed.
