Knight and Knight

In *Knight and Knight*, heard before Judge Scarlett, the dispute concerned parenting arrangements for a child, X. The father sought orders regarding the child's residence and parental responsibility.

The court was required to determine the primary issue of where the child, X, should live and who should hold parental responsibility for X. The court also considered the father's stated intentions regarding communication and contact between the child and the mother, and the role of the Independent Children's Lawyer.

Judge Scarlett ordered that all prior parenting orders be discharged. The child, X, was to live with the father, and the father was to have sole parental responsibility. The Independent Children's Lawyer was discharged. The court made no order for costs. The father indicated his intention to use his best endeavours to provide information and photographs of X to the mother, and to co-operate with the maternal grandmother to facilitate communication and contact if deemed safe and appropriate for X.
