Kerferd & Kerferd

In the matter of *Kerferd & Kerferd*, heard before Newbrun J of the Family Court of Australia, the dispute concerned property proceedings between Mr Kerferd (the applicant) and Ms Kerferd (the respondent).

The primary legal issue before the Court was whether to transfer the ongoing property proceedings from their current registry to the Parramatta Registry of the Family Court of Australia.

Newbrun J ordered the transfer of the property proceedings to the Parramatta Registry and listed the matter for a First Return on 3 June 2021. The Court indicated that brief reasons for this Transfer Order would be provided shortly. The decision was made subject to the confidentiality provisions of section 121 of the *Family Law Act 1975* (Cth), which prohibits the publication of identifying details of family law proceedings.
