The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) considered a matter involving Ms Kaur and the Department of Home Affairs concerning a Visitor (Class FA) visa, Subclass 600. The dispute arose from an incomplete payment of the prescribed fee for the visa application.

Member Gabrielle Cullen reasoned that the Migration Regulations 1994 (Cth) prescribe a specific fee for such visa applications. As only $100 had been paid, falling short of the full prescribed amount, the application for review was deemed invalid. Consequently, the Tribunal concluded it lacked the necessary jurisdiction to proceed with the review.
