The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) considered the application of a primary visa applicant for a Regional Employer Nomination (Permanent) (Class RN) visa, subclass 187, Direct Entry stream. The applicant sought review of a decision to refuse to grant this visa.

The central legal issue before the Tribunal was whether it possessed jurisdiction to consider the application of the second named applicant, who was identified as a member of the family unit of the primary applicant.
